Communications Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will collaborate and assist with various departments of key functional areas and in representatives of Investor Relations, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs and Human Resources to help build and implement the reputation and communications platform for our company.

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the company’s internal and external communications strategy, ensuring the company’s evolving story is communicated effectively and consistently across multiple channels and platforms, including broadcast and print media, online and social media, and scientific conferences. Additionally, and in proportion to our company’s growing presence in the marketplace, the Communications Coordinator will play a significant role in assisting the Director of Communications with risk management and communication planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Communications in partnering with the executive team and other functional team members to develop and maintain overall stewardship of the corporate brand, positioning, and messaging; manage corporate calendar
  • Manage all communications materials, including press releases, internal/external collateral, executive presentations, speeches, and social/digital content;
  • Assist with management of internal content generation and approval processes
  • Provide assistance with drafting of internal and external communication, setting up monthly newsletters and ensuring staff is up to date on company developments
  • Ensure corporate message alignment of ongoing developments, crisis and issues management, advocacy relations, and press inquiries. Anticipate, prepare, and manage issues to optimize and maintain corporate reputational integrity with media, government and policy forums, patient advocacy groups, and employees
  • Assist in the establishment and cultivation of relationships with all media and trade related publications that allows for national and local press. Engage with industry organizations and relevant sub-committees.
  • Explore and develop industry initiatives that will enhance client’s leadership position
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to manage all employee communications
  • Assist Investor Relations with administrative functions such ensuring news release dissemination, conference registration, preparing and printing materials for IR events and other functions as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ of working in communications in a publicly-traded company with direct responsibility for media relations, issues management, social responsibility programs, and employee communications
  • Experience in and success utilizing social media
  • Outstanding collaborative skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and outstanding written communication skills, including excellent presentation, facilitation, influence, and listening skills with strong expertise in communicating scientific information
  • History of crafting and relaying impactful messages and create engaging material in a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to plan and creatively leverage available resources to deliver high-impact external and/or internal communications
  • A history of setting and achieving goals and accomplishing tasks with an aggressive timeline
  • Maintain the highest integrity, standards, and work ethic

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Security Clearance : Security Clearance may be requested for this position

Working Hours: Salaried Position: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
