Marketing & Business Development Manager

McMillan is seeking a full-time permanent Marketing and Business Development (MBD) Manager to join the Business Development Liaison team (team of 3) in the Toronto office. The MBD Manager is an internal account management role responsible for providing strategic business development to support key practice and industry groups, which include Capital Markets & Securities and Business Law. The MBD Manager will report to the National Director, Marketing and Business Development.

 

What You’ll Do

 As part of high-performing team of three (3), you will provide internal support to a wide group of professionals. Your responsibilities will include;

 

  • Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and annual budgets
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the assigned group’s objectives and needs and stay current on industry trends
  • Actively participate in group’s BD meetings to provide value and guidance
  • Lead all group MBD initiatives, involving other MBD team members (MarCom, CRM, events,
  • research) as necessary
  • Coordinate all awareness building activities for the group, including directory submissions,
  • conference attendance, thought leadership development and sponsorship evaluation
  • Develop marketing collateral and credentials packages
  • Provide guidance and support on pitches and proposals as needed
  • Support other MBD projects as required

 

What You’ll Bring

 You have established yourself as a senior specialist with a background in either Marketing or Communications. You have a minimum of 7-10 years experience related experience in a professional services (a business selling intellectual capital) industry. You take pride in your excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You are consistently recognized for your client-service orientation and create a strong presence that will instill confidence with partners, associates and firm leadership. Your past Marketing or Communications experience has honed your verbal and written communication skills, and any French language skills are considered an asset. You have continued to stay digital savvy by quickly adopting and maximizing local software programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You can demonstrate your commitment to achieve set goals either working independently or as part of a team, and work outside of the regular business hours of 9am to 5pm.
