Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, community-inspired Corporate Communications Coordinator with a driven work ethic who can fit into a collaborative, can-do and results-oriented work culture. This exciting role will report directly to the Specialist of Corporate Communications. As part of the Communications Team, you will provide communications support to further elevate the profile and culture of Team Avigilon.
In this role, you will support and develop integrated communication strategies across the organization. You are a compelling storyteller and writer who can create communication pieces for various audiences and mediums. You are a detail-oriented, creative and organized individual, and collaborate well within a team setting. This position offers exposure to all aspects of corporate communications, from communications planning and event planning, sponsorship and community engagement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Corporate Communications
  • Support with providing internal communications advice and counsel for departments and leaders across the organization.
  • Contribute to the planning, management and execution of internal events, alongside the Internal Communications Team.
  • Contribute to the company’s internal communications channels, including intranet and numerous internal publications to ensure employee engagement remains high.
  • Develop communications collateral, including speaking notes, articles, presentations and general correspondence for Avigilon’s Senior Leaders.
  • Provide guidance to C-suite executives on media interviews and internal/external messages.
  • Maximize relationships internally with all departments to support corporate culture
  • Support Avigilon’s Social Committee initiatives including board game nights, social outings and other ideas.
Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Assist with managing and coordinating Avigilon’s corporate giving and volunteer programs. This includes representing the company in activities associated with volunteer efforts and the community.
  • Assist with tracking, monitoring, measuring and reporting community relations activities.
  • Support with providing guidance to operations on community engagement and help identify strategic community investment initiatives.
  • Coordinate communications to the Senior Leaders on community investment including quarterly updates.
Sponsorship
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to establish an integrated strategy for corporate events, sponsored events and external association partnerships.
  • Manage execution of partnership and sponsorship agreements to ensure all assets are delivered and/or performed in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales/Engineer teams to plan and execute sponsorship events to enhance the Avigilon brand.
  • Develop and manage event calendars and communicate key event deliverables and timelines.
  • Perform ongoing research on local events to identify necessary updates and new market opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or a related area of study required.
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience in a communications role.
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Project management skills are essential.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting written communications materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Excellent creativity, vision and motivation.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills required.
  • A team player who collaborates and has strong people skills.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and a positive attitude while performing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for community and volunteering
  • Valid passport. Occasional travel will be required to the United States and Europe.
