Marketing Project Coordinator

Job Description

This position is responsible for general project coordination and marketing support. This includes actioning and managing fulfillment of various department, Central 1 and client initiatives. This role relies on the ability to manage client, supplier and team relationships, including the creative studio, as well as timelines and budgets in order to successfully complete projects.

You’ll be primarily responsible for:

  • Gathering and analyzing project requirements including scope, budget and timeline
  • Both reviewing or writing creative briefs and simple marketing communication plans
  • Providing marketing expertise to clients to suggest solutions that will fit their needs
  • Collecting cost information on project in order to prepare an estimate for clients
  • Developing project plan to determine the timeline and tasks necessary to accomplish, and input into project management software
  • Determining skills needed to complete the project and develop and lead cross-functional teams to achieve the project objectives, briefing in, advising and providing direction to the team
  • Participating and lead client presentations to show them creative concepts and explain how they will achieve project objectives
  • Working closely with the client and other stakeholders to communicate project plans and status and provide regular updates, ensuring project milestones are met
  • Dealing with issues that arise during a project and resolve them to satisfaction with the clients, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet stated requirements and are delivered on time and budget
  • Managing project budgets to ensure all expenses are accounted for and revenue collected
  • Close projects and capture essential lessons learned for future project use

  • Post-secondary education specializing in marketing and/or business studies
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a marketing project coordination or marketing role, within the credit union or financial system would be an asset
  • Knowledge of project planning and coordination principles, tools and techniques; ability to determine and monitor project requirements based on client need, and oversee projects and team resources to successful completion
  • Organization, attention to detail, planning and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Capacity to adapt, deal with ambiguity and to implement changes and seek process improvements
  • Autonomous, creative and curious mind, positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in person, via email and on the phone with a client focus and the ability to work with employees and clients at all levels of an organization
  • Relationship management skills are required to manage, coordinate, and integrate input and feedback from a diverse range of suppliers and clients
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Knowledge of the following would be an asset but are not required:
    • Accounting program (Quickbooks)
    • Online project management (Wrike)
    • Social Media platforms
