Marketing Specialist, Portfolio & Marketing Strategy

Reporting to the Manager, Conservation and Energy Management, Portfolio Projects this position is responsible for planning, managing and supporting the implementation of the Conservation and Energy Management (C&EM) communications budget
Responsibilities
    • Work closely with various C&EM program teams and the Communications department to develop communications plans to effectively meet C&EM program awareness and participant targets.
    • Work with the Research department to develop and implement research projects to source further opportunities to increase customer awareness and participation in C&EM programs.
    • Consult with internal stakeholders, reviewing applicable research and metrics to develop short and long term C&EM marketing strategies and communications plans; Collect and synthesize communication budget information from the C&EM program areas.
    • Lead customer motivation research and other related research with Research and Communications teams (i.e. ad testing, web site usability testing, etc.) and develop recommendations for C&EM outreach.
    • Work closely with C&EM program teams, Energy Solutions, Research and other groups as required to explore and develop opportunities to expand C&EM program participation.
    • Develop and execute promotional Conservation Education and Outreach (CEO) related programs, working closely with Communications and the CEO Program Manager as required; Develop plans and support execution.
  • Work on other marketing related projects as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, General Business or a related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience working in product/program development and marketing and sales.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License.

Technical Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of demand side management and conservation issues
  • Energy industry knowledge, building science or HVAC equipment knowledge and experience working in a regulated utility are desirable
  • Ability to develop program budgets and performance measures
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial control methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of promotional methods, techniques, event planning and implementation
  • Knowledge of customer communication strategies
  • Knowledge of digital channels and design
  • Ability to participate in the organization and implementation of program launches
  • Ability to prepare RFPs, direct, monitor, administer and evaluate consulting contractor work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working on a team
  • Excellent organization skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools
