myZone Media provides event professionals with ticketing, marketing, printing, and software development services. Our Work Environment

myZone works in a results-only work environment (ROWE) so you are provided flexibility in setting your own hours and optionally working from home. Additional benefits of ROWE include no tracking of sick days or vacation time.  We were inspired by Dan Pink’s Ted Talk on the science of motivation, and believe that an intrinsically motivated team is the best way to solve the problems of the 21st century (ie: we don’t use carrots or sticks!).

Key Responsibilities

Doing whatever it takes to get as much value out of public relations, increase awareness, and develop a strong network for both myZone (internal projects), and our clients.

Responsible for coordinating all public relations activities, including but not limited to:

  • Provide strategic recommendations and innovative approaches to the use of PR that fits within the clients’ overall digital marketing strategy.

  • Develop a PR plan and media relations strategy for clients that include measurable goals, budgets, and KPIs.

  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within key business and industry contacts.

  • Support the Public Relations Coordinator in the development of press releases, pitches, and pitch grids.

  • Manage media requests and coordinate media events, interviews, and various other earned media opportunities.

  • Work closely with the Partnership and Sponsorship Managers to identify ways to leverage relationships as it relates to media and overall communications.

  • Identify public relations trends and suggest brilliant ideas on how we can disrupt traditional digital agencies (ok, we’ll give you a little time to grow into that one…)

Requirements of Applicant

  • Minimum 3+ years of full-time public relations and/or media relations experience.

  • Minimum 1+ years of agency experience. Preference will be given to candidates who’ve worked within an agency setting and who understand the ever-changing priorities and deadlines of the environment.

  • Management experience preferred.

  • Solid understanding of PR management tools.

  • Advanced writing skills, specifically content management/writing, with a solid understanding of how to effectively communicate through press releases and pitches.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.

  • Strong communication skills in English.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment… and we mean fast 😉

  • Strong desire to learn new skills, improve processes, and continually develop personally and professionally.

  • Passionate about digital marketing in general with a love for everything media-related. Pursuing personal marketing projects on the side (blog, Instagram, online portfolio, etc.) is a plus!

  • Event marketing experience is a plus!
